Girl Scout Troop 12120 at Gethsemane is currently a Cadette troop consisting of 14 girls in the 6th and 7th grades. The troop has been meeting at the church for 7 years. There are four adult leaders. Meetings are held at the church. We also have one "field trip" or activity per month.

Service Projects

The troop is always looking for service project ideas. Past projects include making confetti eggs for an elementary school.

Books for Ben Taub
Troop 12120 is coordinating the collection for the Twin Oaks Service Unit of gently used children's books/magazines to be distributed to children undergoing treatment at Ben Taub Hospital.  This service project is ongoing through May 1999.  Any donations should be left in the Church office labeled "Books for Ben Taub/Girl Scouts".  
Parent's Day Out
Troop 12120 having its annual community babysitting service project open to all members of the community.  Girl Scouts will offer free babysitting for children aged 1 - 7 at the Church. We will have Christmas crafts, games and activities for the children while the parents shop.  Each child should bring a sack lunch and a donation of a non-perishable food item for a local food pantry.  Space is  limited.  There is a sign up sheet in MDO office or call Laura Jennett to sign up at 713-862-4202.  Deadline Nov. 29.

Activities

Activities include camping, service projects, canoeing and cookie sales. Individual girl activites include STRIDERS, sailing and horseback riding. Check the calendar for more details.
