Gethsemane Lutheran Church

Gethsemane's youth programs include Jr. High youth for 6th-8th graders and Sr. High youth for 9th-12th graders.

The Jr. High youth meet the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of each month for R.O.C.K. (Reaching Out to Christ's Kingdom) which is Gethsemane's Confirmation program.  The format for R.O.C.K. is small group based with students meeting together for opening and closing worship and announcements.  Pastor Cain leads the 8th grade small group through catechism and church doctrine overview.  R.O.C.K. students are welcome to bring a friend to any R.O. C.K. event.

Jr. High students also meet once a month for fellowship events or service projects.   They participate in worship services as acolytes and as members of the Junior Choir and Junior Handbells.  Jr. High students also meet each Sunday at 9:15am in room 203 for Sunday School.

Throughout the year, Jr. High youth attend a Pre-Confirmation Retreat held at Camp Lone Star, Youth Quake led by Youth Encounter and Mission Projects with LINC-Houston.

Students interested in Junior Choir and Junior Handbells may contact Doug Pennekamp.

The Sr. High youth meet the 2nd Sunday of each month from 5:30pm-8pm in the youth room.  These events include a Bible study, dinner, and games or related activities and planning sessions.  They also meet each Sunday morning at 9:15am in room 201 for Sunday School.
The Sr. High youth also gather once a month for a service project, fundraiser, or fellowship event.

Sr. High youth annually participate in a mission project and lake trip.  Past projects have included Group Workcamps, LINC-Houston mission projects, and CAN-DO mission projects.  And, every three years they attend the LCMS National Youth Gathering and the TX District GLORYbound gathering.

The annual fundraisers held by the Jr. High and Sr. High youth are the August Rummage Sale and Gelluchi's Italian Bistro (held in February).
